Dos-Boxxer Its available as abandonware. Downloaded and played the full game, and it appears to be bug free. You have to run it through dosbox, but that's really not difficult. Cheers!

Rambutaan Strange how GOG has got the other Settlers games but not the original. Any particular reason (is the IP owned by someone else for the original)?
thedutchghost I also would like to see this game.
It is good that GOG already has some of the later entries in the series but the first one has a unique charm of its own that is not easy to describe.
toplesaa i remember playing it on my Amiga to 3AM sometimes as a student. I convinced my father that i cant play if he took an Amiga "Y" cable from me (which was only for sound ;) and played it all night long while he was at work.
hybrid_mouldy The first Settlers and the best. Different AI "personalities", random map generator, great soundtrack. I prefer the medieval setting to the Roman setting of S2 also. Lost weeks to this game the first time around, and none of the sequels bettered it.
Risten I wish they had this game.
Matboy i like that game so much it is strange that gog has almost every classic settlers except the first one ....
