nicymike I am currently developing a remake of Settlers 1 called Serflings. You need the original game files to play it but a history edition of settlers 1 is now available at the ubisoft store.

petm this game was great. you could said almost arbitrary screen sizes and connect 2 serial mice at the same time to play with a friend. i said hours watching the little guy doing their detailed jobs. now i wanted to show it to my son, but it isnt here. how come?

Anyway would really love to have this on GOG, I've found it on abandonware sites, wonder what's up with that.
This and Heroes of Might and Magic were games I played over and over as a kid, though I think they were only timed-demos (at least HOMM was). I was fascinated and can still remember sound effects!
