forward link is missing above: www.gog.com/game/star_wars_knights_of_the_old_republic_ii_the_sith_lords
yeeehaa finaly gog i hope the game wil work for us all ty all peoples
Yes it's done, thank you so much!
I can't wait. Hope they release it early this year. If you ever play this game make sure to download the Restored Content mod. It makes the game sooo much more amazing. It's how the game was originally meant to be played.
Would love to see this game here.
Very very pleased with kotor 1, which is garbage on steam. Please add Kotor 2!!!
Would love to see this be a real thing! I own the game on both Steam and CD but my new gaming rig just doesn't have a CD reader, nor is the Steam version barely playable, its crashing, its running at a sub-par Framerate, I can't even get solid 60 or even 30 which is barely acceptable running on double 770
Hopefully they release this and other Lucasarts games soon. Steam's versions are absolutely atrocious.
waiting
You got KOTOR 1 on GOG, NOW GET KOTOR 2 on GOG, lol.
Please GOG get KOTOR2, what is the point of having KOTOR 1 and not no 2.
Also get Jedi Academy and Jedi outcast II as well.
Going crazy waiting for Kotor 2
Disney has rereleased kotor1 & kotor2. I bought them a few months ago.
hello i played first game and i liked it to on gog can u make star wars sith lords on gog to,because my star wars crashes after creating an character and iv runed my all ideas out i hawe windows7
yes please, with sugar on top.
Yes please do this!
In all seriousness, GOG.com really needs to add KOTOR 2 to its library. Your success in getting KOTOR 1 to work on modern operating systems speaks for itself. Compare that to the Steam version which is beyond unplayable, and Steam's customer support which is ineffective as their suggestions do not address let alone fix the technical issues preventing the game from playing on Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8. Show Steam how to do it right and make KOTOR 2 available on GOG.com.
This is one of the best games of all time. While it's predecessor is definitely amazing this one is my personal favorite of the two.
This game really does need some love and a good port as opposed to the rubbish ones *coughs in the humid air*.
cant wait!
Only 2 votes left!
14.ooo votes so far for KOTOR 2 on GoG.
Could we please have an idea if and when it releases?
I'd really like to buy both games on a bundle, if GOG can put the first game shouldn't they be able to do the second too, maybe their preparing the game for modern systems. I don't mind if they just put the vanilla version we can always apply the restoration mod ourselves
I would buy this immediately on GOG and also tell everyone I know to come buy it here.
Seeing as how KOTOR 1 just got released on GOG I'm sure there's an even better chance of this getting released now.
My friends have also told me KOTOR 1 on GOG has apparently better optimization/compatibility than the other releases of the same game... so if KOTOR 1 and 2 are both on GOG (I, my friends, and the various groups I've alerted to this page) : we'll all buy both ASAP!
I've also alerted my SW group and KOTOR group to GOG and hope KOTOR 2 comes here rather swiftly. All my friends will gladly rebuy the KOTOR games on GOG when both become available.
At least I would like if your KOTOR games will be compatible with restoration mods. And I really hope that they appear on GOG.COM
If you're going to bring KOTOR 2 along, just make it comes with the mod that puts back all the cut content or have a sticky that tells you how to do it step by step; game is pretty mediocre otherwise.
Both KOTORs - the BioWare (inferior) one and this - are awesome games if you are RPG fans or/and Star Wars fans. Me being the former and just mildly the latter was astounded seeing what Obsidian did with BioWare formula. The interaction with your squad is just so much better. Some of the characters are Obsidian team's greatest, like Bao-Dur, and especially Kreia.
I must mention the constant KOTOR2 complaint - it's not a finished game and it certainly shows towards the end. But my second playthrough was with the Restoration Project, and with it it was a certain 9+/10 in my book.
Yes need this for Windows 7 and Windows 8. Steam version crashes 99% of the time after cut scenes.
I would gladly pay 100$ to GOG for getting Kotor 1 and 2 without bugs. It is so worth it.
I also have the original game disc but it still crashes on Windows 7 after cutscenes. And unfortunately I dont use Windows XP anymore :/.
@ patrick; I doubt they want to include M4-78EP by default, since it's really self-made by us, and some people really dislike the planet (:().
And of course, still pro KOTOR2 on Gog, and would be fine with TSLRCM being an addon or pre-installed with it :)
(The amount of times people report bugs long fixed on Steam is staggering :()
You do know that when you create a duplicate entry that everyone who then votes for your duplicate is someone who will probably overlook the real entry don't you? In other words you have taken 5 votes away from the entry that has 13,000 votes...
KOTOR 2 is essentially a "mini" Neverwinter Nights 2 in my humble opinion. The best treatment of the Star Wars license ever (no hate on Bioware as I've also voted for KOTOR). GOG's RPG listing has so many legends already. Make it complete asap! :-)
Petition signed by me!
with my little trick no more tweaking is required!
Kotor1 & 2 are always in my favorite list. I no longer have both games. Kotor2 requires some more tweaking than Kotor1 before it can be played on Windows 7 and up. I remember the tweaking requires making it run on 1 CPU core instead of more than 1. If I can get it again, I think I can find a way to make to run again. Besides, it can run without problem on Linux (with Wine). So I do wish for it to happen on GOG. DRM-free forever! :)
My favorite game of all-time, waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than first in any state (even buggy without patches), would pay immideatly if it will be released on gog.
yet another thing - I would like to stress that the stuff below works happily regardless of whether 'threaded optimisation' in the Nvidia driver menu is set to auto, on or off (I have forgotten about other driver settings allegedly problematic with SWKOTOR 1&2) - I just use my preferred settings (visual quality more or less maxed out) without taking any consideration and it works beautifully
yet one more thing, - my trick works with both my original German retail versions (4 CDs plus manual etc. each) of both as well as the English collection (1 DVD each)
I forgot one thing - with SWKOTOR2 you should definitely use the restored content mod plus robot planet mod (after having installed all the patches and the better cutscenes and music upgrades)
one trick that might work (it does for me) is to install it, then copy it to a different directory, then uninstall it and kick out everything referring to it from the registry (the same also works for SWKOTOR1) - and voilà, run your copied version (either through the explorer or the command prompt - in the case of SWKOTOR1 you do not even have to worry about adjusting the number of CPUs used and priority level - works quite simply like a charm in my case on Win8.1 64bit with an NVidia GTX570 and the currentl driver version (331.93) - even stuff in SWKOTOR2 like the Coorta scene on Peragus station where you have to use consoles and look at camera footage to trigger off stuff works (without flickering and then crashing) - you do not get any flickering when starting/loading etc. - both games run and they do so rock solid! all you need to do is put the respective CD/DVD in the drive for copy protection reasons - should the game suddenly minimise (e.g. in some cases when a cutscene is supposed to be played in SWKOTOR1) all you need to do is click on the icon in the taskbar and the game continues to run happily
(with newer Nvidia cards particularly SWKOTOR1 is known to just minimise and rien ne va plus - with my little piece of home surgery both parts nevertheless work)
One of my favorite games. Doesn't work on my laptop.
If you do end up releasing this, try to include the community patch for the cut content. Certainly helps later portions of the game actually make sense.
Would love to see a Win 8 easy compatibility version

I'd be fine with TSLRCM on GOG, why not? :)
And the more people get to experience TSL the better, it's truly a great game. Go GOG!
The versions of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II offered by steam and retail stores does not work on most computers. If GOG does choose to sell SW: KOTOR TSL to the public, be sure that it actually works and does not crash like the steam and retail versions.
Great game IMO better than the first.
Bought retail CD-ROM version on Amazon. After hours of patching and what-not I gave up. Bought the Steam version, clicked on the icon and it worked!! No hassle! Even works with the restored contents patch. So what I'm trying to say is, I don't think GOG wants to go over this process all over again to make a workable game, and I don't think we should ask them for it either.
I'd still love to see this game on GOG. I grabbed Deus Ex on Steam, and a couple of days later it showed up here for less money and without DRM. I was frustrated by that, and I don't want to make the same mistake with Knights of the Old Republic II. This game is near and dear to my heart. I love the characters, I love the story (which seems to mimic the structure of a Homeric epic), and I'd hate to ruin all the good memories with the resource vacuum that is Steam.
I reported it as duplicate. The should allow selfreporting :-)
BTW, why I can't report myself?
Sorry, alredy added. Delete please.
