Good, solid old style RPG with Wizardry-ish combat (change interface, show ranks of bad guys and your team has a front and a back, like 17th century European line warfare). Lots of herbs, lots of grinding for food and to raise money. Decent leveling and skills, but not enough balance in finding items of increasing usefulness. Save and load games absurdly slow on Mac OSX version. We've played dozens of hours and have not yet scratched the surface. Not everyone will like it, but if you want something pretty straight forward and don't mind an RPG with an early 1990s feel, this is a good game.
Lords of Xulima is a solid RPG in the style of old Wizardry with two ranks of heroes fighting multiple ranks of monsters. Dorkishly pleasant and lots of grinding, food and herb harvesting. Some of the quests and texts are annoyingly verbose and a few minor interface irritations. The save and load game dialogs can be INSANELY slow. Like get-up-and-go-make-tea slow. This game will not appeal to everyone, but two of us bought it and played it side by side and have put in dozens of hours and are barely scratching the surface.
