I played the remake first and the differences are immensive. The original has such great soundtrack, and even though you are more or less obligated to kill all enemies (otherwise it will become unbearable), it is still an enjoyable gameplay and I recommend you to play it. Lore-wise it has a lot of stuff that wasn't included in the remake, so it's important to read all documents.
Even though it is very old, it is still a very good game and I recommend you all to play it. One of the classics, controls are not that wonky, so it is playable.
