Children of Morta

Exceptional Title

This is one of those few games that will grab your attention and keep it. The story is exceptionally well done with excellent narration, the characters abilities are interesting and give the player a lot of choice in how they complete challenges throughout the game. I personally found the plot to be appropriate and wholesome, it avoids the silly political pitfalls of modern storytelling, instead focusing on things that everyone can enjoy. The importance of family and the battle between good and evil. Combat will take some getting used to, as each character has access to a variety of abilities after they are unlocked, but once you are proficient with the basic defense and attack mechanics it gets significantly easier. I found the challenge to be good. Game atmosphere compliments the story, and the house-mechanic gives a calm and engaging way to move the story forward between game levels. Even the pixel art-style contributes to the overall enjoyment factor. I found this game best played in shorter sessions, spend perhaps an hour or two at most. Then take a break and give the story a chance to digest before you move forward again. This game should fit fairly well with a busier person's schedule, as they can play through a level or two, get a bit of story, and come back later to work through another level. Progression feels appropriate but is difficult at the start until you unlock various characters and their special abilities. his game is a nice call-back to many classic adventures and is worth your time and attention.
