Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Old school CRPG

This game is a different flavor from Pathfinder Kinmaker. It has a more interactive narative and has some unique battle concepts. Instead of wondering the map like in Kingmaker the first three acts put you in active senarios such as surving a seige or storming a castle. Many of the companions are evil in alignment which makes a good aligned play through feel a little out of place. You do have to make choices that have consequences but think of it more as a pick a path book vs the freedom of choice that a game like bg3 gives. It does have a steep learning curve for the campaing mood and some may find that part of the game unenjoyable. This is a game for crpg fans, if you have never played a crpg game this game may prove difficult to get into and enjoy. This game does have potential for mutliple play throughs.

Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3

The best game I have ever played. There really is no limits in what you can do and I'm not talking about just character customization. You can use the back ground objects to interact with your game play. You can throw a chair at your enemies, use water jugs to put out fires, knock down walls and jump down wells and this is all optional, you do not have to do these things to complete your task. There are so many choices as to how to proceed in the game that no two play throughs will be the same. Character interact varies upon choices and at what time you interact with them. This is what I wished games could be like when I was a child. Back then I understood that games were limited to what was possible, you had a platform jumper and there was a back ground but you wouldn't be able to pick something out of the back ground. If there was an enemy you would jump on them or fight them depending on the game and that was it. There was no choice to talk to them and befreind the enemy. This game has no limits and only makes me excited about what this means for future gaming.
