Honestly I think this is the finest arcade style fighter I've ever played. The Characters aren't as "out there" as some other series but they each play excellently and give a lot of variety, there are very few that seem to have similar move-sets and they tend to be the rivals of whoever else they resemble. The super combos are difficult but with mild practice most can be pulled off naturally during bouts. The animations are so smooth and detailed I honestly thought they were compressed full 3D models, which perhaps was used as a reference to help the creators but it goes beyond what that would allow. One of my big issues with a lot of games in the genre are they aren't terribly approachable and generally anyone with familiarity is at a steep advantage, this one my whole family was able to get in on it, and though skill showed, even a novice could have fun and feel like they were kicking butt, often winning against more seasoned players. The story however is so-so and a little hard to follow, simple as it is it's broken up and fragmented until fully beaten, but fighting through it to unlock the few locked characters is plenty fun.
