MMX is one of my favorite game series ever, and this does a good job on capturing part of the spirit. The movement is mostly fast and the soundtrack is so good I didn't even mind having to replay certain sections. The saving of resistance members reminds me of X5 and X6, but less tedious, since they don't die. There are a couple of medals way too hidden for their own good, but I guess all games have those kinds of collectibles. Some bugs that drove me nuts - getting stuck in spikes in drill form, dying when jumping up in an elevator section, and losing progress when I use the warp option after I finish the "forbidden area" are some examples. Also, the fire drill power makes the character go slightly to the right when you use it, which made me collide with the spikes I was trying to avoid several times. I also have to factor in the missed potential: You have a Megaman Zero-like base but, with the exception of a lady that sells upgrades, there's nothing to do there. In my opinion, you didn't really need the base then. Also, after you beat an area, you are forced to kill some random enemies that show up all around the base. Again, there's no point in that... You could make it so that more enemies appear, the less allies you've saved, or something like that, to give some kind of "reward", at least. I also have to talk about the level design. Some parts force you to use your other abilities, and that would be fine if it weren't so... "forced"? It's like they're there for the sake of being there. I know it's way more linear than the Megaman games, so it would be boring if you could use just the first form for the whole playthrough, but it still annoys me. There's also the balancing issue with the flying form, which should be your last. It may look like that my experience was negative but, besides it all, the game is actually pretty fun and worth playing.
