I had to restart the first level a few times before I figured out the proper resource management, which is narrowly forgiving and makes the game seem more difficult than it really is. Once you find the sweet spot the game progresses like others in the genre - collect, build, research, explore, address pop-up diplomacy issues. Things that make it good: Atmosphere (visual and auditory) - the best asset in my opinion Moderately interesting story line (also not so good) Some interesting things to build Nice diplomacy tree Some "timed" challenges that pop up Things that are not so good: Not believable story line that dampens sense of urgency and connection Is like watching paint dry at times As your outpost grows the buildings start to look the same and crowd together As per above, makes it hard to locate a specific building in the midst of an urgent situation Map control is hard since your outpost starts out "in a pit" Overall it is a pretty decent game that is certainly worth paying for.
