Made way back when letting a person with the mind of a 12 year old write the story and dialogue was unacceptable, Fallout offers you great gameplay; endless character customisation options; and a masterfully written, highly detailed story line set in a deeply immersive world. A world where choices actually have consequences outside of their immediate plot. Fallout 1 and 2 may very well be _the best_ CRPGs made in the recent 30 years. You will experience an open world filled with detail, story lines, characters and secrets that will have you yearning for more when you are finished. You will let the experience sink in for a week or two, and then you will get an itch so bad that you will rush to start a new game with a different character so that you can explore all the options you did not select in your previous play through. This will happen over and over again, like it did for me - being in my thirties, with dozens of play throughs in my past, I still reinstall it when I get a spare minute and start another adventure. With the numerous patches and fixes that have been released since Fo2 saw daylight - restoration patch being cheif among them - this game is a gift that keeps on giving! There is a catch though - playing the original Fallouts will lead you to be disappointed in every single game claiming to be an RPG released since. Especially the ones bearing its name. Really, a small price to pay for the experience. Enjoy.
