To me, it was always a game that blurred the lines between a lot of RPG subgenres. Sometimes its Diablo (aRPG), sometimes its Ultima (cRPG). Some people hate it for that, but to me, it makes for a very unique experience that i have returned to many times over the years. Far from perfect, but unique and satisfying. Should be played through at least once by any (c,a)RPG fan, if only to be a sleight diversion before playing through PS:T or BG2 for the 800th time.
