This game has been very fun with enough quests/upgrade tasks to break up the monotony that typically accompanies fishing games. That said, there definitely is a bit of a grind you have to do to get properly started. The story is super interesting and I'm really enjoying all of the little tasks you can pick up while exploring - seeing all the horrible mutated fish is also a plus!
