This got me into politics 27 years ago. If you are much younger than me, you should still give this one a shot. You'll appreciate the meme SFX if nothing else, but there are so many things that will remind you of other games. More life (hearts) after a boss fight. Blowing up walls with bombs to find stuff. Some of the best FMV and voice acting in any game in history. And, a healthy distrust of authority.
Everyone knows about the rough launch, and everyone likely now knows how much it didn't really matter. I feel like I stole this game. Because of the rough launch, the physical PC copies sold for $10 at GameStop just weeks after launch. I snagged it. The game is worth the full price, if you like single player story-driven games. The variety of builds, storylines, the audio and voice acting, it's all so solid. I'd argue that this game is a lot more engaging than the Witcher--love the story but felt like single player WoW to me. This game feels so much more dynamic.
