Ive played this game for almost 100 hours at the time of this writing, and I'd actually give it 3.5 stars if that were an option. The game is an action RPG with elements of city building in that you can recruit NPCs to be part of your clan. THe clan dynamic is simultaneously one of the good and bad aspects of the game. It is good in that it adds another element to the gameplay. The bad is that your clan members do incredibly frustrating things with disturbing frequency. They will fight each other, go insane, and get themselves killed without apparent rhyme or reason. It took me several restarts to figure out how the whole clan thing works. I liken it more to babysitting than anything else, and frankly the game would be much the same without this, but as I said it does add another element to the gameplay. The game gives you several options to win, i.e. logistical (amass a great quantity of food), military (destroy all other clans), diplomatic (allied with all remaining clans), or adventure (solve a bunch of quests to "quite down" the area). In practice though, after a while it becomes a grind. Pretty much the entire game is kill/be killed. Given that it is an action RPG, one should expect that, so Im not criticing based on those grounds. Overall, get it on sale and boot it up whenever you dont want to think much and just want to kill stuff.
