You don't need to keep making characters just play a little and you can change your entire character If you enjoyed other cRPGs this is a great one, one of my favorites and I played Baldurs Gate 2 when it came out in the 90s If you're new, just pick something and play, don't stress, you can start on god mode and then turn up the spice at your leisure if you want, very customizable experience for new and veteran players but it is gonna be a lot of choices and menus, so if too many choices blocks you out this whole genre is about making choices Checkout Rogue Trader
This game and its sequel are great They didn't get the funds and time of Baldurs Gate 3 but they certainly made a fun cRPG
