It would be good if they would support online multiplayer on their servers and this is bad that they do not, but no support for LAN multiplayer is just stupid and kinda unacceptable. If they would support LAN multiplayer then beside being able to play through LAN it would be also possible to either use some internet tunneling programs, or VPN-like programs that are creating LAN-like networks or even just port-forwarding to create servers on which it is possible to play with friends who have is in other network. I like that this version is DRM free but when the game costs almost the same as for example steam version then it should have as close functionality as possible - and LAN multiplayer do not cost anything for them and could serve as some kind of replacement. I don't know if steam version have LAN multiplayer but if not then it definitely should have and if it have then why it is not in gog version too? Not to mention that if they will decide to finally shut down servers (and this probably some day will happen if game will be old enough) then even steam players won't be able to play non-local (here by non-local, I mean multiplayer which is on more than one pc) multiplayer (I know that specifically on steam there is something called "Remote Play Together" but this is not always an option and this is not the point). And I am not saying that they should make DRM versions with fewer features and sell for less. Ideally DRM free versions probably should be as close to non-DRM versions as possible, but if they are for some reason making version that have less features then it should cost less.
