The game is gorgeous. The sound is wonderful. The main character is as un-sympathetic as they come (which turns out to be...well...you'll see if you buy it). The puzzles start off ok, but turn into game logic puzzles (find a walkthrough) that rely on pixel hunting through some beautifully dense scenery. If you don't mind playing through a game with a walkthrough in your lap, it's a nice story. But if you are head down in a walkthrough, you'll miss the wonderful scenery and all the good color commentary.
If you liked the tactics of Homeworld but wanted a bit more story and a bit less resource building, you'll like Star Wolves. It's the same kind of 3rd person space tactics with a nicely varied set of missions and equipment. Not too long; not too short; and at this price, I'd say it's juuust right.
