GWENT: The Witcher Card Game

Goodbye gwent

-2 rows: Meaningful rows in hc is a fiction. Most of the cards are locked to one row with second option played only by mistake. With 3 rows you can still make them meaningful by locking to one row or making choice from 2 or 3 with different effects. -Lower values on cards: Decreases resolution for balancing card values. -Too much low cost removals: In beta there werent many options to kill 8 power card and before midwinter killing 6 wasnt easy. Right now when 4 body is equivalent of 8 from beta there are many cards that deal 6 -Too specific/binary counters: With this, either matches become series of checks for counters or large number of cards are not ever played. -Removing tutors: Tutors are mechanic that encourages to play weak cards by adding tutors to them It can also make almost every card potentially playable. -3D leaders: Who thought 3D is better than 2D? And if so why not make all cards into figurines? -Removed mechanics: CA spies, NG spies, Armor, Reveal, reavers, nekkers, handbuff and many more -Lots of generic dmg/boost cards -Too specific synergies: Cards like “For every warrior” reduce number of ways the card can be played -Silver cards removal: Just why? Gold cards shouldnt be able to be tutored. -Game is too slow: Having to press pass button every turn feels terrible -Bad design cards: Xavier Lemmens, Reveal etc -Too many draws: 3rd round is always long -No additional provisions for bigger decks: This makes them unplayable -Provisions being main balancing tool: It feels bad to be forced to have a bunch of trash cards in deck which you always want to mulligan. In beta every card you picked was chosen carefully to fit the idea of the deck. Now you do the same for first 15 cards and then slam whatever costs 4 provisions to fill the deck. Doesnt matter what it is - its getting mulliganed. Cards should be balanced like in open beta into 3 categories. Provisions should only be a tool to refine balance.
