Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Enhanced Plus Edition

Flawed yet best of the Baldur successors

Is it buggy? Yes. Could it be better optimized? Yes. Am I having one of the best time EVER playing a CRPG and planning my second play-through? HECK YEAH! From the get-go, players familiar with the D&D and/or Pathfinder rule-sets will have an easier time understanding the mechanics and overall logic of the game, but despite the lack of hand-holding, all the information one needs is there, and extensive. Combat is unforgiving but very satisfying once a bit of strategy is applied and can accommodate almost all play-style and party composition. Yes, the save-scumming is real, but I have a lot of fun trying out new strategies, spells and placements when facing with seemingly overwhelming odds. The kingdom management system is not as exciting as it could be but meshes very well with the overall story and I've found myself spending entire play sessions planning my region's development, balancing neatly long dungeon or exploration runs. Regarding the reported tech issues, I haven't encountered any game-breaking bug, just annoyances here and there, so far however I've been impressed by the developers patch-releases schedule. All in all, if you're not a Pathfinder / D&D fan, you may want to hold off a bit, but keep that game on your list! It's a gem like we don't find often these days.
