Were they too lazy? Too greedy? Too incompetent? Did they just have total contempt for the customer, the person who signs their paycheck, the person who puts food on their table, a roof over their heads and clothes on their back? Instead of writing good AI, they just flood you EVERY TURN with unlimited enemy reinforcements. You get no reinforcements, limited resources, and after achieving a mission goal, when you're injured, spread out and weak, you are forced to eliminate every enemy unit from the map.....or else YOU FAIL. This game suc ks donkey scrotum.
I'm age 59, I grew up when if you wanted to play a video game, you drove to an arcade and fed quarters into a machine. I quickly grew sick of the tricks. Since they could not make the games Good, they made them Hard. In order to beat the machine, you had to become a machine yourself. Not fun. This has carried over to today, when they won't spend the money to make a game good, only the graphics look good. All the money is spent on Marketing, and zero on quality testing or support. This has gotten so obscene that YOU pay THEM to do the job of finding and fixing bugs and balance issues!!!! Sorry the Ford Pinto is murdering people by blowing up, go fix it yourself. They can't make the game good, so they just make it unfair, too hard, imbalanced, frustrating. The devs are evidently just banking on sales to the sick masochist meth addict types who enjoy pain, rather than adjusting difficulty to capture a much LARGER audience.......people who are not living in Mom's basement doing nothing but play games. Iron Harvest wildly overpriced, even on sale for $25. Took hours to download on a high speed connection. I more than met the specs to run it, but the moment it launched, it froze my computer and I had to do a damaging hard reboot. The moment it launched, a constant high pitched noise started coming from the computer, and EVERYTHING got twice as hot as normal. THIS GAME WILL LITERALLY MELT YOUR COMPUTER. No other of the hundred games I own ever have done this. Checked, and all my drivers are fully up to date. Turned all the graphics settings as low as they would go, still melting my computer, overheating and huge noise like a jet aircraft. Turned off every background process possible, and my THREE FANS And computer are still overheating/ melting. Gog won't allow me to say what I want to, limits on how many words, which is asinine.
No mouse driving.....you can change direction with the mouse while walking but the ONLY way you can drive is with the keyboard, making driving literally impossible. Garbage ripoff game, do not buy
Almost impossible to play this. If you want INTUITIVE, go buy Company of Heroes. This junk is overly complex, NOT RESPONSIVE, bad mouse control, too many picky tiny boxes. Camera is Janky all the time, doesn't scroll right. Frustrating, confusing NON INTUITIVE. Clearly was never playtested before release. DO NOT BUY THIS
Very short campaign, so to compensate, they set difficulty ridiculously high, which can be adjusted with annoying settings. Boring, stupid dialog, ugly cartoony charachter images. Should cost maybe three dollars, since there is ZERO replay value and it is incredibly short.
