As others mentioned here, many disciplines (such as speed skating) are broken, because the game detects that the game was tampered with and forces you to collide with the outer wall in the lap. To be sure I've downloaded a non-tampered version and used a code wheel to enter the code when asked. And in this case I could easily finish the skating race without hitting the wall.
I bought it expecting I could play the original Flashback under DosBox under Linux. Not only the DOS version is not included, the game itself doesn't seem to work under Wine.
