Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition

We "all" know that this is a great game

It IS a great game, but this enhanced edition doesn't work on modern computers. I got the old one to work, without a fush actaully, but the EE frezzes up or does other weird things.

STASIS: BONE TOTEM

It's not a bad game

I find the game more frustrating than fun. The puzzles are obtuse.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Heart of the Forest

Too shallow

It's fine for what it is, but it's just too shallow. I felt I had to go online to learn all the interesting stuff... It's a fun little story of about three hours; worth it at a discount if you want a decent werrewolf story.

I really didn't care for the it

I think this could have been so much better with a more focused story. And a more serious tone. I really didn't care for the weirdness and the humor it clunk to. Gretchen was... without spoilering... not a great character and the voice acting of her was by far the worst in the whole game. The game would have been better servied if it started in chapter two and continued from there on out. The game needed more mystery first and foremost. It was a wonderfull section underground. Sadly, it was very short. Also, less backtracking and skippable dialog would've been nice. Especially a malplaced concert in game. Besides that, I found myself getting impatient with the puzzels. Mostly just clicking on everything without any other reason than being able to. And talk about insenseable puzzels! Not just insenseable, but also there for no logical reason. Stories like Disco Elysium and The Thing shows how you can make a lot story with a very small backdrop - I think this is a factor, becuase clearly, this game was limited to a few locals, because they were painstakeningly handmade dioramas.

Saint Kotar: The Yellow Mask

"Paranoid fanatic and a certified ahole"

... that was what another reviewer wrote and it was my thoughts exactly. It's a negative when a game opens with a bible quote; but it gets worse, oh boy does it get worse. It doesn't take long before the main character is screaming nonsense about god, sin and hell. There is nothing but religious babble from the start. The main character is a paranoid fanatic and he begins fighting his addict brother-in-law about where his bible is. From there it just keeps going. This is too much melodrama for an opening. I did like the voice acting and the general look. And for once in adventure games, the animations isn't stiff and clunky. But this game doesn't scream horror to me, but mental illness and fanatic delusional paranoia. A flawed character can be very intriguing and this is a plus, but we need to be able to follow the character to that point and maybe relate a bit. Another thing that detracts from the score is the actually gameplay. More specifically the way you interact with the hightlights. They seems to work a bit weird, like they are too big or cover a too big of a general area. I'm not sure, but it's lacks precision. It gave me trouble cliking on the church like I wanted and just kept getting the same dialog over and over again. Same when I had to interact with the dolls. And then lastly, the way skipping dialog is way to sensitive as a single click can jump two or three sentences ahead in on go. I'm giving it a 3 because I see the main annoyances with the game being the themes for me, and I know it will be just the thing for some people. But this is a pass for me unless the focus is shifted to a decent horror story and not thauma and personal trauma. A thing I felt missing is the option to do what I want and not be forced to follow the character's wants to a letter; like going downstairs.

Too shallow

The game is cute, but not as capturing as I hoped for. The is prize too much for running around a half dosin hours "yelling at globes" (the puzzels in a nut-shell)
