This game certainly recapture what Carmageddon was and even improves on it. The new modes add a much needed diversity to the game. In that sense, the game is excellent. The graphics are kind of subpar for a game released in 2016, but they do the job and better graphics would bring nothing to the game. The loading times are annoying, but they are not that bad (it takes about 30 second to load a map on my computer). To me, those two small flaws are insignificant. However, the lack of steering wheel support is a major flaw in my mind. I know some people say it's not a racing game, but it is still a car driving game where driving skill does matter. Worse, even with a game pad, speed is controlled with a button. It's not possible to map it to an axis. It's on/off. This removes a lot of control over the car. Another flaw is the inside the car view is pretty much unusable. The limited FOV (the inability to change it), the lack of a rear-view mirror, the really weird car models where the driver is pretty much sitting on the left door (the left A pillar is near the center of the screen) and the fact that when we look to the right our own head is blocking the view, means we can see very little, even with cars that have a big unobstructed windshield like the Countslash. Another flaw is the game is limited to 4:3, 16:10 or 16:9 ratio. Ultra-wide monitors or multiple monitors are not supported. VR is also not supported. Obviously, the game was made for consoles and for console gamers. It's not a PC game. Other than that, the AI is sometimes annoying (it insists too much to touch you, even if this leads to no damage) and it looks to me cars have a tendency to "clamp" to each other. An AI that is touching you on the side can drag you and it's difficult to escape. Finally, the damage model doesn't seem to be consistent. It looks like there is some adaptative difficulty going on. Overall, it's a good console game, but as a PC game, it is flawed.
