Life is Strange is offers quite the emotional ride for anybody who is ok with the game focusing on a story where you choose your own path instead of action-packed gameplay. It's much more like a walking sim and thats ok. Cons: the lip-sync doesn't actually sync at all ^^ Pros: great characters that allow you to become invested in them fantastic music emotional story difficult choices
If you don't like games that have their focus on the story rather than gameplay, this game is probably not for you. But if you liked the original game and want to learn more about the story of Chloe, this is your game. It keeps the artstyle and feel of the original and adds MUCH better lip sync.
I used to play the game with a friend when I was little and I can say that the game lives up to my memories and expectations. The crash derbies are a ton of fun and a good option to spend a couple of minutes when you re not in the mood to invest yourself in a complex or story-driven game. Just get in, demolish some cars and enjoy yourself. The career is fun too. Don't expect a simulation-like handling tho, its much more arcade-y but still good enough and causing no problems when playing on a keyboard. In my opinion, Flatout 2 is better than the previous game in all relevant aspects: graphics, handling, progression & game modes.
I grew up with Flatout 2 and it still is a lot of fun to this date. Flatout 1 is just meh in comparison. Cons: handling is underwhelming its not possible to skip upgrade tiers crash derbys are frustrating and not fun at all Pros: many upgrade options Bottom line: just buy Flatout 2 instead, the execution in this game is just plain inferior
Cons: vehicle handling is horrible weird stock keymapping irritating fake traffic graphics of cars that dont exist performance and stability not release-worthy some annoying bugs Neutral: something screwed up my in game audio and i have no idea what caused it and how to fix it I didnt like that you cant actually decide your sexuality (SPOILER: after you start dating judy there is no option to tell River that you are lesbian and i didnt like that detail) (SPOILER: judy dumped me after i was in space getting the engram removed and i was very confused and sad because WHY?) Pros: The game is fun combat with katanas is quite addictive great characters great story different playstyles are executable
I personally really enjoyed the experience, as I love stealth games. What intrigued me most about the game was the concept of your enemies learing from your actions. So you end up in a literally 'fight against yourself'. BUT keep in mind that this game is best for gamers also enjoying games like Hitman, Dishonored or alike. I do, so it's fine but be aware that the levels are kind of repetitive from the 'what possibilities do I have' viewpoint and you might not be able to complete levels without stealth. However, if you enjoy conquering challanging levels by planning ahead and maybe trying again than it's really awesome. IN SHORT positive aspects: - awesome story - gorgeous artstyle and graphics - good performance (I'm using Xeon X5650@3,6GHz + GTX980+12GB DDR3 --> 100FPS) - levels look pretty diverse - thrilling game mechanic: learning AI (first game that has such a feature? at least I don't know of any other ones) - very challanging negative aspects: - very difficult: 'easy' is harder than the hardest difficulty in some other games
