This is one of those games you DON'T skip the into. It sets up the atmosphere of the game. READ (don't skip) the scenario briefings and try not to fall off your chair laughing. I have these games on CD : KKND , KKND Xtreme (both first version) and KKND Krossfire (KKND 2). You play as Survivor (normal human), Evolved (mutated human) or Series 9 (robot in KKND 2). KKND 2 is set 70 years after KKND 1. Play KKND 1 first so that coments in KKND 2 make sense. Some people just DON'T get along :) :)

When I purchased Stellaris a year or 2 ago, I gave it 5 stars. One update penalised large empires by making research (and some other things) more expensive. I could work around that. The lastest update has killed the game for me. The developers clearly haven't spoken with those who play the game, or play the game themselves. I have a huge empire covering 1/2 to 2/3 of the 1,000 system galaxy, over 473 populated planets in 43 sectors, 40 military fleets, 5 armies and 10 science vessels. With a leader for each of these, I have 94 leaders. The game starts with a leader cap of 6. My current limit is 8. This leader cap makes the game unplayable. Consequently, I have stopped playing Stellaris and won't be spending any more money or time on it until the leader cap is removed.

The gameplay is good. The best part is the briefings. This is set up by the into. Play the opening intro several times IN FULL. This sets the tone for the briefings. Listen carefully and read what's on the screen ... the whole screen. You may be laughing at the briefing so much that you miss the start of the round. The same applies for KKND. Some groups just DON'T get along.

Descent was one of those great games to play ... until the computers became too fast and the game was unplayable (this happened to a lot of the old DOS games). Another old favourite of mine was Elite, a space trading / fighting game initially for the 6502 based BBC Micro Computers (3 versions - B&W wire frame, color wire frame & colour solid). There was a PC version, but it wasn't as good. Is there any chance of the original being ported?
