I have the physical disk for this game and I have played the story mission to the end. Since Ubisoft tried something new, some will excuse it, but the PC port is in fact called a Director's Cut (You're not a film studio Ubisoft) they at lest tried to fix some (but not all) issues. The graphics are nice, and I can wager they have aged better then most games from 2007, the soundtrack is memorable, good story (counting plot-holes here & there, some became bigger since Revelations) and since it's an open world game (more or less), you can go at it at your own pace. Here are my issues: the main menu is an absolute mess, to which Excel 2010 is more user friendly, lip syncing was far from good (but you can look away from that anyway), occasional bugs; biggest issues are 1. combat, 2. Unskippable cutscenes, 3. Altäir is water soluble & 4. Beggar women & Lepers. I have done some research into the console variants and have to say they done away with some issues: there is a fast travel option when leaving the castle & from the rafiq, as supposed to riding a horse to a location every time avoiding conflict as much as possible & they added more information gathering for the targets (variety a bit undermined, but whatever). Btw: the last mission & ending will be a kick in the teeth for everyone. All said if you can put yourself in the mindset it will pull you in. A tip: finishing the story mode gives an unspecified reward, but it's the most pleasant thing one can ask for afterthefact.
