Cyberpunk 2077

How good? So good.

One of the best games I've ever played. Game controls well for my preferences (Half Life style control scheme). Graphics are ridiculously gorgeous than they have any right to be. Sound design is excellent with so many bespoke effects littered throughout. Gunplay is solid, satisfying and reminds me a bit of Killzone 2 with the cover mechanics. I won't comment much on the story, others will take a lot of enjoyment from it, as do I. Bugs have happened, some random T-posing, clipping, physics going wonky, cars falling from the sky as they spawn in, some NPC scripts or quest scripts not triggering sometimes to name a few. So far I haven't hit anything that has flat out impeded my progress and enjoyment. I keep a rotating run of x number of manual saves. Having to reload a save in the instance a quest bugs might be the final straw for a lot of players. I can deal. Game has steep system requirements, no need to sugar-coat it. The performance fixes floating out there by modders are a possible avenue to explore. Your mileage may vary. There are promises of fixes for the performance down the road, I'm only counting what I've experienced so far in my rating. I have not had much performance issues with it that I couldn't handle so I don't care much unless it continuously locks up or crashes. I've had one crash so far in my 85 hours of gameplay. The world building is incredible and certainly the star of the show here. I love this stuff, moreso in an RPG of this scale and this is the thing I'm weighing most heavily here. So detailed, even small encounters have a back story to them. Pieces of information the designers left for players to uncover and click together for themselves are scattered all over. Seems like little was left to chance and there was TONS of thought put into what goes where and the implications of it. If you give it a shot, pace yourself and let the game's world pull you in. It has all kinds of interesting stories to tell you.
