The game uses Unreal defaults for everything so it's looks visually appealing, but this is everything that the game has: visuals. The lore that supposely should be a combination of Cyberpunk and Lovecraft is actually a very superficial cyberpunk "neon city" and a amalgamation of lovecraft easter eggs without a proper lore of it's own, is probably one of the worst representations of cosmic horror that I ever played, is the opposite of Bloodborne, beyond lacking in lore the game have yet other problems, the puzzles are non-sensical and don't reward the player properly, and the worst part is the physics, made the game horrible to play, just because you can add a physics to open a door by holding the doorknob and pushing it like a real door don't means that you should, this "realism" don't make the game fun, made it boring to play, everytime that I need to pass a simple door I want to close the game. Summary: - Non-sensical physics application. - Non-sensical puzzles - Non-sensical lore that is neither a good Cyberpunk or cosmic horror.
Introduction The game is a adaptation of Dagon short story from H.P lovecraft almost step-by-step, if you are a H.P Lovecraft fan and like a frame-by-frame adaptation you will problably like it. Gameplay The gameplay is ok to me, but can be strange to some people, you don´t move the camera freely 360º, you also don´t walk through the 3D scenarios freely, you can only appreciate it using the mouse and investigate the scene by clicking on certain items, for me this is perfectly fine and works very well, but maybe not for everyone. Story Is a perfect adaptation of Dagon lovrecraft, it's frame-by-frame true to the original history as any lovecraft fan remember. Coclusion A nice adaptation for any gamer interesting in terror that are not fixed on gameplay itself, I also think that this game will serve very well any non-gamer reader that wants a more visual experience into lovecraft short story.
