Planet of Lana

enchanting experience

Such a great game. Artistic direction (visuals, sounds etc) is perfect, puzzles are not the most challenging probably, but they make sense and are satisfying to resolve, controls are top notch, I never felt frustrated by the gameplay, not a single time. Story is simple and straightforward, but delivers. If you're into puzzle plateformers, I heartily recommend.

Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat

Doesn't work

I was reading the comments, got excited to find back this game I love dearly (Dark Omen has the superior visuals, UI and banter, but SotHR has a much better campaign, and much more variety - both are great games) because someone pointed out that the "doesn't work" comments date back from 2015, and it works fine now. I blindly believe it, I get the game, start it, "prepare for battle" and... "points at score"

Warcraft: Orcs and Humans

Good old game for sure, but...

GoG version here. I haven't faced any problem whatsoever in running or playing the game. Back then, I was on team Command and Conquer side (I'm always on the ultimate loser's side, RiP Westwood Studios :'( ), but still, I loved this game (guilty pleasure). It wasn't nearly as polished as C&C, clunky controls, etc, you've read it all, but the atmosphere made it work. Handrawn art is good. CGI was bleh even for the time, but it's very scarce so it doesn't really matter. Music is very nice, voices are great. Gameplay wise, it's very simple, very few units, copy/pasted on both factions, slightly unbalanced in multi (increased range for humans, increased strenght for orcs). When you can research the elementals/demons, the game is only about recruiting a few mages, and waiting for the mana gauges to fill up. When I read about Blizzard working a bit on it with GoG, I was expecting, dunno, something. The player will gain no visible result. No improved mouse (so do yourself a favour and download WarcarftMouseHelper, it allows WC2 controls, right click to move, drag window w/o crtl to select), and no wide-screen. If you don't know it, it's a game that's pretty fast to finish, and it's a piece of history, so maybe wait for a sale, but maybe give it a go?

Diablo + Hellfire

Minimum service

Ok, so it's Diablo, straight, I'm not sure what they mean with supporting modern screen resolution. When I read that, I expect widescreen at the very least... Well no. A couple quality of life improvements would have been nice, too (hold LMB to attack, crtl to reveal items on the ground), while they were at it. 5 stars for the original game (I don't agree that it has badly aged really), -2 for the quasi-lie of the modern resolution support.
