I've been eyeing this mod for some years and finally decided to give it a go thanks to GOG Mods, as installing mods can be a hassle sometimes. Overall I had very good time with the gameplay changes and the new/altered enemies. At times I felt lost and I didn't like some of the fights in cramped corridors. What I found most jarring was the way the story is handled. I appreciate that they tried something different, but the story driven sections are breaking the pacing in a bad way for me and the game does not feel like Doom at all in these moments. Nevertheless, it's a good mod and I would recommend trying it if you have any interest at all.
If you are a fan of Sanitarium or classic point and click adventures in general this should be an easy recommendation as it one of the best modern games in the genre I have played recently. If you are a fan of narrative driven sci-fi horror games, or you are interested in trying a point and click game for the first time, this is also a good choice as the puzzles aren't too hard and there are hints. Should you get stuck, or you just want to experience the story, the game comes with a PDF guide, so you won't need to search for solutions.
Well, the other reviews already make it pretty clear, you'll probably not get what you expected when you bough the game here. Also, future releases on GOG will have to be taken with a grain of salt, given that their definition of DRM-free is becoming a bit questionable.
