I thought games on Gog were supposed to be optimised to actually run, but clearly that's a great big lie. Game pad support is virtually non existant, takes a lot of messing around and never works quite right, but that's absolutely irrelevant, as it's impossible to get into the game. it all begins and you're inexplicably thrown out of the car, can't get past it to proceed with the story, try and go the other way and you fall through the floor and die. Toptal waste of time and proof positive that game devs are the lowest of the low in the software development world. Totally lazy that Gog are offering this crap in their store, no better than shitty Steam.

The first Trine game was a decent effort, sadly this is more of the same, but with worse control, far less intuitive puzzles and level design that is frankly shoddy. The graphics are very pleasant, but sadly the gameplay becomes increasingly twitch-like and the story is run of the mill. Save yourself the waste of time and the hassle and just get yourself a fantasy art book and make up a story in your head. A shoddy game from a likely shoddy studio, avoid.

The game is visually very attractive, good story, development ETC, most of the other reviews cover this in more detail, but we need to talk about the bugs. Do game devs properly test software anymore? One major bug in the game is you can walk off a long drop and basically just walk down like there are stairs there, quite useful if you're not stuck on realism. Another more critical bug seems to occur when you try to climb up ledges, sometimes it works OK, more often than not the character disappears and you have to kill the process and restart the game. Save frequently, not just because the game is challenging, but because it has flaws in the software. That being said I completed the game today and I did enjoy it, apart from the second mentioned bug. If I am going to shell out money on software I would expect better QA testing, seriously.
