The game focuses heavily on what a pirate game should be about: piracy, trading and epic naval battles. It's basically a "limited open-world" that puts your tactical skills to the test. But if you ever should bore from trading and being a pirate, then be an adventurer and discover treasure, lost cities, encounter curses and the undead. Your decisions in the game can make or break you and there's nothing holding your hand or trying to guide you through the game. If you don't use your wits you will not progress through the game. This game ties so much different aspect into one epic playthrough that you will come to love. That being said the game also have some real re-playability. Initially you can start out as one of three different characters and make different choices when it comes to the different factions in the game. Sid Meiers' pirates! is the childrens version of this game and even though AC: Black Flag boasts better graphics, there is only one king of the pirate games. This is it.
