So far I've enjoyed the main storyline but the world is just non responsive to what a player does. Traffic and pedestrian AI is nowhere to be seen, can't pick a fight with a stranger, pedestrians just crouch in one spot when something happens. Police spawns behind you when a stray bullet hits a civilian. Nothing interesting is happening in the world when you stop to watch. I've spent more than 10 hours walking around Night City just to see people walking back and forth between two points. Very little interaction between npcs, I was hoping to see an improved version of Euphoria being used to simulate npcs and bring the city to life. Traffic just stops when you park in the middle of the road, npcs just sit there when being shot at in their cars, or they get out and crouch. At the moment this game is good for the main quest only. So many little jobs which involve clearing small groups of enemies confuse the proper side missions, I feel no pull to invest time in these. The Witcher's world wasn't massively interactive but had so many stories to uncover, here it's like a check-list to clear on the map. I thought the world is missing a few functions like a portable radio, a phone with interesting functions, auto drive, futuristic webpages, preview clothing items, more radio djs and tv shows that give insights into the city life. I am disappointed to see that what made The Wither special is missing outside of the main quest line. The main quest beats and moments are great if somewhat on the rails some of the time.
