I know this game very well and played it a lot. The game has really great design ideas. Planning mode and live mode. Capos with own crews for dozens of different assignments. It's pretty deep but i have to say two things hinder longterm fun with this game. First the bad AI, which will always gang up on you on a specific point in your career. They really should have make the gameplay more open ended. As it is you always have to be aggressive to be even able to keep alive. Another flaw is the live mode, which frankly is broken. Most of the orders you can give will end in a fiasco with the cops and get your guys killed. The AI is so unbelievable stupid, it's not funny. Nontheless the game is superior to it's successor and all other gangster sim games. It has a deep gameplay and really a lot of hidden factors and possibilities. It's a shame it has so crucial flaws. Hopefully we'll see a remake or fixed version sometime.
