Everything about this game feels old and nostalgic - even if you haven't played it before. It has a good storytelling with two main characters, multiple interesting conflicts, some thriller with good actions. But gameplay feels old, too - it is responsive but boundries and limits are there, you feel them. And performance... oh... even if you have high-end PC, it will lag and crash because of some outdated software stuff.
This is an amazing game when you can run it and bare occasional crashes every hour. IT IS A MILESTONE. This is so classic that the devs could organize a conference about "DEFINITION OF OPEN WORLD GAMING." Music, humour, gameplay, story, activities… it is a masterpiece. Variety of customization on the characters properties, vehicles, cribs, gangs, loadouts, variety of side events... not to mention the main story, it never gets bored*. The map isn't too large, but it is large enough to contain all events and not feel empty, for example travelling from point A to B never feels too long or boring, every corner, and street and buildings have their own feel, and probably their own interiors. OK, let's get to the negative stuff, I put an (*) there because PC port of SR2 is not performing well by default. This game needs some tweaks and for these you need mods, maybe ones with many additional features. If you try to play it out-of-the-box, you should expect weird FPS and performance related issues, poor quality of vfx and crashes to desktop. By the way, i have to say that this one performs definitely better than the Steam version. You should get this game or you can miss an action-fiction-rpg-openworld-classic! I almost certainly guarantee that you will enjoy it! 👍
