The solutions to the puzzles are a bit too outside the box and annoying. I think there is only a single solution to the puzzles and no multiple way of doing things. In many instances I could think of a few other more logical and straight forward ways of solving problems. But I ended up collecting lots of items and randomly tried to combine them to get an incling of the solution the game developers had in mind. Is it really too much to ask for fairly logical and dare I say a little bit more realistic puzzle solutions with perhaps more than a single way of solving them? This game certainly doesn't have that. So its not an exceptional game, no exceptional story telling, character arcs, no exceptional plots, twists or turns. There's no hook. I mean, games by other developers has at least some of these attributes. Even Lost Horizon had something going for itself that kept me hooked. But not this game. Its just a time filler no different than doing a word puzzle.
I don't normally review games, but this one is a fantastic game. I played it with GMDX mod, and every aspect of the game from story to atmosphere to the open platform is just great. I used joytokey to play it using the joystick, and unfortunately some slight sensitivity issue with that and I hoped the game would have auto-aiming to compensate for that. Maybe other softwares will have better calibration with converting keyboard controls to a gamepad. I love playing this game late at night when I don't have an early morning the next day. The whole atmosphere of the game lends itself to late night play. After a night out, sitting down with a cold beverage, a sandwich and playing the game has felt like a small slice of heaven. Really great game play, fab story and character development, good voice overs, good music scoring. The game has an x factor that got me hooked, maybe its all the individual components gelling together, but I never got tired of playing it unlike other shooting games. Shame I couldn't get dx Human Revolution to run smoothly on my pc. Would have liked to continue with the whole saga.
