Has the strongest story and campaign of all the games in the franchise. The story is also stand alone. The graphics are a bit dated, but its an excellent game!
Frankly this is another classic. I love it. It has aged well in that the expansions that came out since its original release have fixed a lot of the issues that I had with this game the first time I played it many years ago. NWN1 might still be better, but this is a fantastic game on its own as well.
This game is a cross between dungeons and dragons and city management. It is very deep in its customization options, and very detailed. It is also very difficult. I think the issues with difficulty come from the fact that some presumed knowledge of dnd comes with this game, rather than everything being explained explicitly in game. I am sure this will be fixed in up coming patches, but for now make sure you know how to fight swarms!
