Wonderful first entry to an incredible series. The ONLY thing that hurts it, is there is a lot of boring backtracking, but there are simple mods out there that fix this (by letting you teleport). I notice a lot of people claim the combat is badly done, and clunky. This is not true, it is simply DIFFERENT than its successors. The people that claim it is bad, are the same people that want all games to have cookie cutter controls, and complain about D and D rpgs using dice rolls instead of playing like God of War. You know the type, the same idiots that don't skip a cutscene when they find it boring, because that is "disrespectul to the developers". The echo chamber drones. That is, they don't understand that there is a difference between something being badly done, and something being done well, but they simply don't enjoy the style. It is NOT clunky. I think the combat is FAR superior to Witcher 3. You MUST prepare for combat in this game with the potions, and you study up and prepare for different enemies with different potions. This is designed that way because that element is straight from the books. There is a rhythm element to the actual combat, and also you can change the combat to be in isometric mode, which works great with the style. These whiny teens and college students can't grasp that games used to strive for unique mechanics, and won't spend one hour getting used to something different, even though they have all the time in world. If you don't care about echo chambers and gameplay opinions from people who were in diapers when PS2 was king, and enjoy more thought to your combat, you may very well enjoy it.
