Tropico 5

The best of the first Tropico 1

This bring back some of the feel of the first game. I love reading my citizens minds and watching good more to the port box by box.

Battlestar Galactica Deadlock

Great Battlerstar game

This closest game I can think of is XCOM. There are two phases of the game ship combat and the strategy map. Ship combat is semi turn-based where you decided what to do and watch it play out. The strategy map is where you build, customize and deploy your ships. If you're a fan of space combat cinematics this is a great ride. It the gameplay was engaging and required me to think tactically, deploying flak to stop a barrage of missiles, deciding how many fighters to use offensively vs defensively. retreating damaged ships at the right moment, etc. You can't just through your ships at them and expect to win. I particularly like the section armor system to force you to always consider the ship's relative position to one another to distributed damage to fully armored sections. The story was the right level of cheese for a strategy video game. If your a strategy game fan or Batterlstar Galactica fan I would recommend Deadlock.

Minecraft Story Mode - Adventure Pass

Light hearted point and click adventure

This is a fun lark through the minecraft IP. In standard TellTale fashion the game centers on timed dialogue responses. The writing is light hearted and aimed at a younger audience. If you're an adult who enjoys animated films you'll probably still enjoy the game, chicken jokes and all.

Firewatch

A worthy experience

Bottom line, I adore Firewatch and recommenced it to anybody who enjoys video games with a strong narrative at there core. It's hard to describe this game without spoiling pieces of the experience so I'll be vague. This game scratched in itch I've had for a long time. A bit about me, I love games with interactive stories (things like dialogue trees and voice responses to objects), exploration of interesting worlds/environments, and I have had an fantasy of escaping into the wild to run from life's many challenges. This game delivered on all of these. If this sounds like you then this game is for you. This is also one of the most mature games I've played. I don't think I would have gotten as much out of it when I was a teenager or in my early 20s. The biggest fault of Firewatch is it can't be played for the first time again. Happy camping.
