Metro 2033 had a great story, graphics and atmosphere but the gameplay was realyl bad. I got this game for like $5 so I decided to try it since I heard they fixed the painfully mediocre gameplay. I am glad I did. Once again the atmosphere, graphics, story are all great but the gameplay is also fun to play as well. It is slightly open world and does it really well and you will see some cool random encoutners in the world. The beginning has some cheap jump scares which I was hoping the game wasn't going to be littered with and thankfully it is not. Supplies are limited like the former game so you really aim for the head or avoid some conflict all together. Stealth is done pretty well in this game as well. There are some audio issues such as distortion, low volume or a delay. The only other complaint I have is they send you off on your own frequently while the other 12 people stay at the train and do nothing. It's weird and seems lazy but it doesn't detract from the experience I really am enjoying the game.
Great game. I prefer the 1st battlefront better but this was great none the less. Some of you seem confused, this isn't a port and this series did not originate on Console. This was released at the same time on PC and was very popular on PC. Just because you discovered computers in the last 5 years doesn't mean this wasn't a cult classic on PC......
was worried about the turn based combat but it's a non issue. I actually love the combat. If you like Kotors combat this combat system will be a non issue. This game is made with so much love the devs really thought of everything. You know how when you are playing a game, you try the most random stuff just to see if the game lets you do it? This game lets you do it every single time. There are dozens of ways to defeat every enemy or solve every problem. Truly a masterpiece. It has some minor bugs and the romance in this game is awkward and clearly made by nerds who have never experienced romance but besides that 10/10 one of the best RPGs I have ever played. Easily up there with Oblivion & Kotor as a goat.. I am about 90 hours in and I am at the very beginning of Act 3 which is supposedly the longest act. I lost a little steam when I got to act 2 because the shadow realm was annoying but Just get to the last light inn and the tediousness of Act 2 will be gone.
I never played Far Cry 1 but I have played every other Far Cry. This game sucks. The graphics and fire physics were ahead of it's time but that's about the only nice thing I can say. The world is so incredibly dead. This is in Africa yet there is basically no wild life at all. In any of the sequels the wild life will attack each other, npcs and you. That is nowhere to be found here. There are also no npcs in this dead world. The excuse is that the civillians were all evacuated but that's just a cover up because they didn't feel like adding them. If you evacuate in real life some people will stay behind and remain at their home. It's you and all enemies that's literally it. No Friendly NPCs, wild life, civillians, NOTHING. The game is open world yet it is so incredibly linear in design. They could have created lush jungle, savannahs, deserts, praries. It just feels like an empty forest. The weapons degrade extremely fast and jam, terrible and unfun feature. Speaking of terrible and unfun features your character has malaria. You constantly need to find medicine. That's probably the worst design decision in the history of gaming. Not to worry though, I modded it out and the game still sucks balls. There are check points everywhere. You clear them out, drive 25 feet, turn around and everybody has already respawned like nothing has happened. The Villain is also incredibly forgettable which is Far Cry's strong suit. The gunplay also lacks here too and enemies are bullet spongey. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
Obsidian is decent when you give them a Franchise and an Engine and do all the leg work for them. They are terrible when it comes to being creative and this is no different. Outer worlds isn't the worst but it's the hardest 5 out of 10 in gaming history. This game is so incredibly average and mediocre there is no need to ever play this game. It provides some humor but that's about all it does right. The atmosphere, graphics, combat. level design, quest, characters, story are all painfully forgettable.
I played the old one back in the day and while the Atmosphere, story and graphics were all 10/10 the core foundfation of gameplay/gunplay was severely lacking and mediocre. 10+ years went by and I didn't touch Metro. I heard that Exodus improved the gunplay significantly so when it was on sale for $6 via EGS I said what the hell and gave it a shot. The Atmosphere, story and graphics are still spectacular and I heard right, the gunplay is very good now! Also this game is semi-open world as opposed to the linear design of 2038 and they do it very well. NPCs fight each other out in the wild which leads to some pretty awesome and unexpected encounters. Supplies are limited which encourages exploration and has you picking your battles and aiming for the head to conserve supplies. I have a few minor complaints, this game has cheap jump scares, the Audio is kind of fucked up. It's low in nature and the voice acting can sound a little distorted at times. Your character doesn't talk neither which can be awkward at times as people just shout at you via radio and your character offers no response. Also, there are like 10 of us out there but yet they make me do everything and go on suicide missions alone while they sit at the train remaining warm and cooking smores. This could have been executed better. Monster respawns are kind of annoying as well. I can kill some ghouls from a distance and within a few minutes there are some back in the same location. Still I am enjoying myself very much, much better than the original.
