Stranglehold always deserved better, from review scores to sale numbers, and yet neither were terrible. Reviewers at the time gave Stranglehold above averge scores and the game sold moderately well, but still, Stranglehold deserved more; more praise, more accolades, more sales and sequals for years to come. We unfortunately only recieved this single game, but thankfully this game kicks ass. It's short, It's fun, and above all else it makes you feel like Inspector Tequila in all his double wielding glory. The game isn't perfect and thats mostly from the decision to include two levels (the fishing village and abandoned city) that dont play to the strengths of this game. They aren't horrible levels, and in fact both are beautiful to look at and still add to the variety of each stage, however neither include many destructable elements and that's truly where this game shines. Dont get me wrong though, the shooting feels excellent on it's own as each weapon packs a serious punch, and the animations for each enemy's demise is glorious for the time, so even in these lesser environments the game still holds water. Stranglehold is a damn good time, and it deserves your hard earned cash whether on sale or at full price. You'll most likely beat it in a day, but that day will be an adrenaline pumping good time.
