I rushed into reviewing Metal Gear Solid, as it is my favorite game of all time, but after spending some time with the GOG versions of Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2, it is clear that the ports have some serious issues. I absolutely love the Metal Gear Solid franchise, and I hope one day it will come to the PC in a manner fitting of the legendary series, but I sadly can not recommend these two ports (and I desperately wish GOG would let people update their reviews). Even with a lot of extra work and outside patches, these ports are not the best experience. Definitely a step down from the original releases. I highly suggest finding a different way to play these awesome games.
I don't ever write reviews of games. I am making an exception for Metal Gear Solid. That is how amazing this game is. It is a fantastic story with amazing characters, plot twists and turns, and fun stealth gameplay that still holds up to this day. I can't recommend this game enough. Go play it.
