Cut to the chase: combat mechanics are not explained, and the first combats are set up extremely badly. Many things about this game are excellent. But playing the game requires doing well in combat, and the combat mechanics are strange and not presented well, which makes the game very hard to enjoy or even understand. Ironically, the game starts out by throwing a ton of text at you. This is done very badly, in a way that will definitely overwhelm you. There is no excuse for how bad this is. And then the game throws a few combats your way, somehow completely divorced from any of the text they buried you with earlier. It is very obvious this is a good game that has sadly been crippled by stupendously bad presentation. You may think you can overcome this barrier by sheer force of will, but you don't stand a chance. There is (probably) a good game here, but it's only accessible by the employees of Snowhound Games. If you work for them: great! But if you are just some random internet schlub avoid this game like the plague. It breaks my heart that so much creative passion has been undermined by terrifically bad onboarding.
