Cyberpunk 2077

End Credit Review (no spoilers)

This is a letter to CD Projekt Red. Just finished and rolled credits. So here it is. At some point I had to stop living in NC and fire up the last mission. I was not left disappointed as the final mission was a loud wild rush of a ride. But up to that point in the game, I had felt Cyberpunk lacked the depth of choice and impact that I felt when I playing the Witcher 3. Until Cyberpunk rolled credits. That was when it clicked together for me. The theme of Cyberpunk is a commentary on the relentless pursuit of the image of success at the cost of losing what was meaningful in the first place. It is the definition of the word Cyberpunk; an advance world of technical achievement at the cost of poisoning the world itself. And we the player, act this out in 1st person, while grinding for the next shiny rifle or piece of cyber-ware until we find ourselves tempted to rush through dialogue and skip story lines. So just a word of thanks and admiration to all of you at CD Projekt Red. You have accomplished a work of art these past seven years. I know that the game is still getting kicked in the teeth right now. But try to remember that the same sh*t went down when the Witcher 3 came out. Not everyone is going take a second look at this game or bother to make it to the end which is f**king sad. However, what you put out is unmistakably art and YOU are truly beautiful for it. Sorry for the language. I've spent 40 hours with Johnny Silver Hands in my head.
