Upon noticing this game was available on GOG is was excited. Looking at other reviews I became skeptical. Like others I played this years ago on consoles (xbox/ps2) .. do I want to play it again on the PC.. YES!!.. and how glad to have made the purchase. So, its an old game and the graphics may not be out of this world but they are loads better than on ps2 (yes I actually compared), visually so much clearer. I turned the antialiasing and multisampling on max and chose widescreen. Works perfectly, smooth movements using a controller, adjustments the vertical/horizontal and sound can be changed.
Whilst I enjoyed the first release I found some areas lacking. In this release you have an inventory giving better purpose to weapons and armor. I like that you can choose to be male or female and have the option in the game to customize your character. You can reassign controller buttons.. always useful. I'm still only a short way in and finding it more engaging. If you have played the first one you won't be disappointed second time round.
Is it me or anyone else struggling with the controls, I am usually quite adaptable to either a controller or mouse/keyboard. With many positive reviews I felt it would be a worthy try, somehow though using a controller feels clumsy and when I use mouse I keep wanting to 'click' to move instead of arrows keys. Yes you can program buttons but still feels limited. I shall persevere as really want to enjoy this one.
