Cyberpunk 2077

Solid game with a bag of launch problems

It's an altogether solid game, but suffers from technical problems, poor optimization and a lot of minor bugs. The wordlbuilding and immersion are great, the soundtrack rocks and the game can look really, really beautiful. Characters are engaging and really fleshed out, facial animations are well done, and especially with RTX on, characters look gorgeous in certain moody settings. The gameplay is solid, but the combat can be repetitive for players that want to focus on firearms - there are no augmentations that alter the way you use your guns, and the stiff gunplay doesn't alleviate that either. The only weapon type that truly stood out were smart weapons, because they allowed more freedom of movement and faster paced combat. Melee combat, however, is exceptionnaly well done and feels great, if not a little hectic. Sadly, there is no possibility to change V's appearance after the creation screen - you can change your clothes, but you're stuck with your hairstyle, nail polish and make-up, for some reason. The game, however, suffers from performance issues and as of this time requires a substantially stronger PC then the system reqs assume (specs of mine at the end) to run consistently with 60+ FPS or 45-60 with RTX features enabled. It's also riddled with a lot of minor bugsand accesibility problems, but none of these problems are unfixeable, and CDPR acknowledged both the existence of these bugs and that they're fixing them. The gaming does everything it wants to do right, but it's just not polished and fleshed out enough for 5 stars. None of these problems aren't fixable, however - and given time they will be. Right now, i would enjoy my holidays and give the devs some time to iron out the meanest bugs before playing, but i would defintely recommend you play it when it's done.
