I have been playing X3: Albion Prelude for a while now on my Linux system. The game itself is very immersive and I enjoy the sandbox do-your-own-thing style of the game. But I found the GOG Linux package to be below par: 1. The Albion Prelude addon is missing most (all?) voice files. Adding a few symlinks to the Terran Conflict voice files worked around most of the problems, but not all. This is apparently a known problem that has been there for a while. Users should not have to deep-dive into the forums and mess with the installed game to fix glitches like that. 2. No Bonus Pack included. Sure, Egosoft released the BP for Windows only, but it is reportedly possible to get it working on Linux if one is willing to fiddle with WINE. But AFAICT the BP is not in the Windows GOG package either... 3. The game was consistently crashing - I worked around the problem by replacing some of the bundled libraries with the ones from my system. This problem could be attributed to me using a non-Ubuntu system, but it also seems that Egosoft has released a more recent Linux build that is supposed to fix some of these issues. It would be very much appreciated if GOG would release an updated package for Linux...
