Alpha Protocol

Half great rating for half great game

WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECCOMEND, BUT PLEASE READ!!! The game definately has its problems, that is clear. However the dialouge system, and the way your able to role play, is one of the greatest mechanics not only in rpgs, but in gaming itself. Once you get past the at best, "playable" basic gameplay, Your able to enjoy a story that allows you to fully experience what it feels like to play as a spy. Your one and only goal: to coplete your mission. What is your real mission? Only you can decide, as you become a rouge agent. How do you acomplish this? by learning each and everything about the people that you meet; either by psychological profiles, or what you observe in the field. You will then use this information to manipulate them into doing anything you deem in your favor. As the game proudly says: there are no bad choices, only outcomes; and it follows this philosophy down to a T. It dosnt even punish your actions or lable them as "good" or "bad," like majority of rpgs; its for you alone to decide what you need to not only accomplish your mission in the most eficient way possible. Wanna ally with a terrorist you were sent to kill? good, he can provide you with damning evidence about the nation that betrayed you. Maybe you perfer the ninja method of "in-nin" infiltration, and wish to talk your way through a heavily guarded embasy. Good thing you did, because not only can you avoid having to either murder your own countrymen/steathily avoid them, they even provide you with vip protection. Or maybe, you need to hack into a cia data file for helpful information, desquised as a gelato shop; but dont wanna bother trying to convince the guy guarding the place, so you just say 'fuck it,'' and just shoot the bastard there so you can easily get to it. Your planning the mission, so do as you wish! You even get unique perks that effect your gameplay depending on your actions! The story offers you never before seen freedom in how your story plays out.
