I really liked the game, the fact that its single player with a focus on story is a huge plus. The setting is definitely very unique, and well worth the price that I paid for during a sale. Looking forward to the sequel releasing this year, hope it comes out on GoG! The fact that you don't get DRM here is a dealbreaker for sure.
All right, after having put 20 hours into the game I felt it was time for a review. First things first, this game is amazing. It is everything I expected it to be after playing the Witcher 3, which I consider my all time favorite. The quests are as engaging as the Witcher 3, the gameply is more fun and varied, and the game is carried by its stellar dialogue as usual. I'm having a TON of fun with the game, and to say more would be spoiling it for other people, so I will refrain. Touching on the aspect of bugs, I have encountered few of them (running an i5 6600/GTX 1080 build) so my playthrough has been enjoyable, for the most part. I do however, think the game is held back in a few ways, some things that can be made better: - The controls for dodging are not very good. Doom: eternal implemented this better, (SHIFT and holding the required WASD keys for dodging, something similar can be done here, I hope). - The AI is a bit bugggy, especially when you have a companion following you. The antagonists don't seem to care about said companion. - The game length. I know that it was intentionally cut short as most people did not finish the Witcher 3, however I feel like as someone who completed the game, the length is a huge part of what made the game so amazing. I really hope CDPR adds more content through DLCs, or makes the upcoming expansions packs as long and as great as Blood & Wine and Hearts of Stone. Because I can't get enough of this game! Making it longer and bug free, as well as making the controls a bit better and tweaking the AI a bit could make this every bit of a masterpiece as the Witcher 3 was, maybe even more. Overall, its a fantastic game that can (& should) be longer. Night City is an amazing open world that is pretty damn great. Screw the haters, I believe that given a bit more time, it could be a near perfect game. Keep up the good work!
To say that this is simply the best game I have ever played is an understatement, becasue second place would only serve as a formality at this point. CDPR have truly created an incredible experience that canoot be replicated at all. There is a reason that this game holds the record for most awarded "Game of the Year", and I can stipulate that it is, infact, 100% deserving of it. This game deserves to be brought TWICE, and no amount of 5 star ratings can take away from the fact that this will always be underrated. It isn't just a single story, this game sucks you in for 200 hours, and maintains a collection of story with innumerable decisions that all have weight. Once in a lifetime experience, for sure! Soundtrack - 10/10 Gameplay - 9.5/10 (Points ducked a little bit for the combat, which is still pretty great) Story - 11/10 Graphics - 10/10 Dialogue - 10/10 Mechanics - 10/10
